We are also very supportive of new promoters and emerging acts with regular showcases of the best
new artists in London and the UK.

The Balkan Wanderers are a 5-piece Balkan-inspired gypsy-ska-punk band, based in Oxford. They take inspiration from traditional Balkan, Gypsy and Klezmer music as well as the contemporary punk-ska scene. Support from Arhai and more TBA!

Sat 10th December - Dyschord's with very special guests Weird Sex
The Dyschords is a fictional punk band created for the upcoming British-American science fiction film ' How to Talk to Girls at Parties ', based on the short story of same name by Neil Gaiman and directed by John Cameron Mitchell. Set for release in 2017, the cast includes Elle Fanning, Alex Sharp, Nicole Kidman, Ruth Wilson and Matt Lucas. The music of the Dyschords has been composed and performed by Martin Tomlinson of Selfish C*nt (Vox) & Bryan C B Weller (guitar) who are joined by Cathy Lucas (Vanishing Twin) on bass, Victoria Smith on drums and Sam Ayres (Flowers) on rhythm guitar. Join us for a night of Punk & Ska 7"s with live music from The Dyschords and primal proto punk outfit Weird Sex and Tom Furse of The Horrors / NTS playing records until the early hours.

Sun 11th December - Twin Prop Plane - Single Launch
Join us for a night of original indie-folk music celebrating the release of the first single by London-based band Twin Prop Plane. The five piece draw on an eclectic mix of influences including indie bands such as Belle and Sebastian, Vampire Weekend and The Mountain Goats, and from Jazz and Classical music. Founded by singer/songwriter James Taylor, their sound often contrasts light moods with subtle lyrical meaning.
Support from Les Etoiles and The Porcupine Dilemma.

The Mariachi boys are back at the George to help us celebrate this New Year's Eve! This 9 piece roaming/stationary band will be playing fairly rowdy, party friendly mariachi covers of 80's/90's/current pop songs in absurd sombreros, ponchos and badly drawn on moustaches!
Join in on the fun and let us make this the best NYE yet seen at the George!!
