Wed 8th June - Root Down at The George Tavern
Phil Stevenson is a true devotee of rhythm and has been adding his earthy, soulful guitar tone to some of London's top jazz outfits for the past decade. A searing funk, hip hop and soul Hammond organ trio, the Root Down brings together Phil's love of Blue Note jazz legends such as Grant Green and Lonnie Smith with Funkadelic, The JBs and Sly Stone. As well as contemporary influences including Lettuce, Soul Live and J-Dilla.
